In Genesis 1, it is written "God created man in His image; In the divine image He created him; male and female He created them." What is the image of God? What does it mean for us as Catholics? As Christians? Man being made in the image and likeness of God goes to the heart of the faith and truth. The image? The Trinity. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Three persons - One God. The Father loves the Son and the Son loves the Father so powerfully; it is a person - the Holy Spirit. Man was made in this image. How does this impact our identity? How does this impact current issues like marriage? It is very significant. It is foundational. It means everything.
